Product Description
This product will let you replace the standard Medeco high security key lock which comes standard on all FireKing Files (except the 22" D Turtle) or add-on additional locks to your file cabinet.
Replacing the Standard Lock (Lock Upgrade)
Lock upgrades are recommended for substantially improving the security of your file cabinet. For a lock upgrade, simply choose your desired lock from the first drop-down menu "Lock Upgrade." Set the other two drop-down menus to "N/A" and click the "Add to Cart" button. Adjust the quantity to match as required. To learn more about the various lock upgrades, see below.
Adding Additional Locks to a Cabinet
For greater control of drawers in a file cabinet, add additional locks as needed using the "Additional Lock" and "Addtional Lock Placement" drop-down menus above. For a 4-drawer cabinet, 3 additional locks would be required for fully indepedent control of the drawers (one on each drawer). For "two & two" control of the drawers in a 4-drawer file cabinet (one lock for two drawers), order one additional lock and specify the "Additional Lock Placement" as on the "3rd Drawer from the Top." Each drawer is dependent upon the above drawer's lock.
Available Locks
- UL Listed Group 1R Manipulation-proof Combination Lock. When manipulation proof combination locks are used, special high-security locking devices will be furnished in lieu of standard drawer catches on the side of drawers in Fireking vertical files. Part #3002.
- UL Listed Group 2 Electronic Lock. Features an electronic lock's master code; you can easily control who has access by adding, deleting, or changing up to eight different user codes. The file locks automatically each time the drawer with the electronic lock is closed. A six-button combination opens the lock in five seconds or less. One million possible combinations makes it virtually unpickable. Part #E-LOCK.
- UL Listed Group 2 Combination Lock. Part #3006.
- Standard Medeco high-security key lock. Part #501745.
